Winter activitiesKanin, a chain of mountains on Slovene-Italian border that dominates the space among the Alps and Friulan lowlands, can in good weather conditions be seen from the distant Venetian lowlands. Its position on the climatic transition has endowed Kanin with abundant snowfall. The high altitude of the ski slopes shine with sunrays, enabling skiing on natural snow without icy patches.
While skiing on this high mountain, we can at the same time admire ships in the gulf of Trieste to the south and the chains of Alpine peaks to the north. The year 2010 was a turning point, when the Slovene sunny side was finally connected with the shady Italian side. Kanin is not an ordinary ski resort: it has its own character. Its rudimentary alpine roughness is illuminated by the Mediterranean light and its stone pillars and karst deserts transform into a paradise for cross-country skiers in wintertime. OFFER
